Discover the history and inspiration that brought about the design for heathfield’s twelve luxury bedrooms.  Be inspired as you take a tour of each bedroom in preparation of your next stay……

Bedroom 1 – The  Bingham Room

Settled in Lady Emma Bingham’s splendid former bedroom, you can relax into the true elegance of our historic country house. The warming wisteria wallpaper is matched with traditional french style furniture, white-washed to bring a light and uplifting feel to the space.

Above the fireplace hangs a painting by John Bischoff, who is a close personal friend of the owners and whose work features throughout the house. Each artwork has been carefully chosen to evoke atmosphere in the bedrooms – above the Bingham Suite bath you will find a large woodland abstract which echoes the rural tranquility outside.

Framing your window views from this room are the 300 year old giant cedars: imported from Canada , as was the fashion for great English estates of the past. We love the sense of grounding and strength they bring to the grounds here at Heathfield.

From the super-king bed you watch the sun go down and be warmed by the solid oak floors and soft grey velvet curtains – the delicate glass chandelier sets the tone for a luxurious evening of calm and relaxation.

Like most bedrooms there is also the option to position the bed as twins or have an additional bed or cot added.

Bedroom 2 – The Meadow Room

Our botanical Meadow Room brings a touch of oriental zen to Heathfield House. In this former dressing room of Lady Emma, there is a petit and unassuming dressing table  which opens up to give you a sense of space, perfect for getting ready overlooking the gardens.

The feature Farrow & Ball ‘Shouchikubai’ wallpaper was chosen for its botanical motifs: plum, pine and bamboo, the ‘Three Friends of Winter’. Symbolising strength, beauty and longevity, the hexagonal frames bring an Eastern elegance to this peaceful, rich bedroom.

In the bathroom, contemporary circular mirrors symbolise enlightenment and wholeness of spirit, completing the zen atmosphere which is the overriding theme in this calming accommodation.

The super-king or twin beds are made up with egyptian cotton and soft feather pillows, perfect for settling in and watching the sunset through the Westerly-facing windows.
