We were delighted to recently welcome back the Honeypot Children’s Charity for their second annual Christmas Party at Heathfield House. It was a fantastic day for all involved, and even included a special visit from a certain someone…
The children arrived after lunch full of energy, and excitement. First on the agenda was dressing up—complete with christmas jumpers and novelty hats! When everyone was properly dressed for the occasion and feeling festive, they got straight into an afternoon of games and activities. There was the chocolate game, face-the-cookie, football, colouring, but the highlight for everyone was the paper aeroplane competition. The winner managed to get their plane to fly a whole 20m!
The fun and games were followed by a festive feast in the grand Heathfield dining room. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food, sang carols and even had an impromptu dance party.
But the main event was yet to come—just as the children finished eating, who else arrived but Santa! He and Mrs Claus sat down to tell the children about their adventures travelling from the North Pole, and how Santa’s helpers got his sleigh going again.
When Santa headed back to the North Pole, the children went down to the cinema room to watch a movie—Peter Rabbit. Their Day finished in the games room playing pool, giant checkers, and having a good time.
It was a special and magical day for all involved, we loved having the Honeypot staff & children here for an amazing Christmas celebration at Heathfield. We are really looking forward to having them back again next year!
Since 1996 Honeypot has been working to enhance the lives of young carers and vulnerable children aged 5-12 years by providing respite breaks and on-going outreach support. We give young carers a break from demanding and stressful responsibilities at home and provide a safe, nurturing environment where children at risk can develop their full potential.
